Sutton is Lacking Flowers but not for Long
Locals in the Sutton area have been outraged by the fact that flowerbeds of their town are still lying bare in mid-summer.
Last week a story was published in their local newspaper to express their concern about the fact that town’s pleasure gardens were missing colour. However, the greatest concern was that this lack of decoration would ruin the visits for the tourists.
Senior Projects Officer at Lincolnshire County Council, Amanda Bond, replied: “For Sutton on the Sea, endeavours to further improve the area for the summer tourist season have met with some unforeseen delays. We would like to reassure people every effort is being made over the coming weeks to create an environment to be proud of.”
Bond went on to say, “We consulted on replacing the annual flower arrangements in the beds with year-round planting and there has been a delay due to the technical design and laying of exciting, new feature lighting within the beds, which is due to start on July 21. We understand concern the beds appear bare at this time but planting will take place shortly after the lighting has been installed and both elements should be completed by the August Bank Holiday.”
