Spicing Up Valentine’s

Spicing Up ValentinesIt seems like Christmas was just yesterday, and Valentine’s is just around the corner, time to start thinking of gifts for our loved ones once again. Though Valentine’s Day is a bit easier with a box of chocolates and flowers doing the trick, there are few simple things you can do to spice things up.

The best way to say “I love you” is with a dozen red roses, according to the owner of Always and Forever Flowers, Vincent Campo. He says, “a rose is a rose is a rose,” quoting Gertrude Stein. A dozen roses costs about $70, and you should start placing your order now, or you might end up empty handed. If you really want to make an impression then it is a better idea to have a mixed arrangement made. Maybe roses and your special someone’s favourite flowers. It costs about the same amount but is a bit more thoughtful.

Chocolates are the second favourite for this holiday, but you don’t go to the local supermarket to get your sweetie sweets. It is a better idea to go to a local chocolate shop, maybe one that makes handmade chocolates, and if you aren’t getting flowers, it is possible to get flower shaped chocolates, in a variety of flavors.
