Organic Flower Farm Blooming With Success
Defying the expectations of sceptics a farmer has proven that flowers can be grown in Japan without pesticides and make a profit. His organic flowers have seen enormous popularity with the public.
Organic flowers are quite rare in Japan, while throughout the rest of the world they are quite common.
Yoshihiro Suzuki is a 37-year-old man who has built up his organic greenhouse in Saku, Nagano. His orders for flower are increasing by the year, and now he is receiving requests for edible blooms.
Suzuki is from Tokyo and oddly enough he was not born into a farming family. He started off by growing flowers on the patio of his apartment as a student.
Suzuki has loved flowers since childhood, he says, “they react to the care they receive.” With this love for flowers he decided to enroll in an agricultural high school. Though he did not finish university in this field, this was the first step into a life devoted to flowers.
