New Spring Flowers to ConsiderThe “Fritillaria Meleagris” is not as well known as other spring flowers, but it is time to consider adding this unique and fragrant flower to your spring garden.

Fall is the best time of year to get started on adding colour, fragrance and beauty to your spring landscape. Spring flowering bulbs need to be planted now.

September is especially ideal to get started on planting for spring. Narcissus, tulips, crocus, hyacinth and snowdrops are some of the better know flowers that are planted in the fall. This year you could try planting some flowers that are not so well-known.

The “Fritillaria Meleagris” is one of the new blooms to try, it is extremely hardy and grows well even in cooler climates. This flower is very easy to grow and maintain, and it is not bother by pests and rodents. It is a member of the lily family and it can be grown in clusters or separately to create a natural effect. The flower grows up to 18 inches with 2 inch bell shaped flowers, which come in reddish brown, purple or white. This is a self-seeding flower so it will give you blooms for years to come.
