Imaginary Flowers Along the Interstate
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will now be displaying a group of flower sculptures, which used to be lined up along Interstate 540.
The sculptures look like exotic flowers and they are a part of a public art installation called “I-40 Flowers: Cultivating the Northwest Arkansas Neighborhood.” This project was done by sculptor Lee Littlefield.
Originally, the flowers were set up in little cluster on private land along the I-40, said Terri Trotter the interim president and CEO of the center, they were on display from Fayetteville and Bella Vista.
Trotter went on to explain that the purpose of this colourful and interesting display of flowers was to draw attention to the Northwest and its artists. Furthermore it was simply a fun thing to do and served to unite the region.
