Floral Home Decor : Flowers Open up Your Home and Your Heart to Happiness and Joy!
There are a multitude of reasons to decorate your home with cut or grown flowers, the most obvious being that they are beautiful and smell wonderful. Decorating home with flowers can have an impact on your emotions as well, not just influencing how well your interior design comes together (although flowers do add a lot to the room!).Â
Beauty & Home Decor
Flowers are naturally beautiful – they’ve been the subject of songs, poems, and prose, along with all kinds of artwork. Adding a beautiful bouquet of flowers to a room can really add something to the living space – colorful cut flowers on the table for a friendly brunch or classy white orchid flowers or orchid plants for a dinner party. Red roses are perfect accents for a date night dinner, while daisies in your kitchen can make slaving over a hot stove more enjoyable. You can even add flowers to your guest bathroom, giving it a little bit more of an inviting feel. Arranging flowers is an art form all of its own after all, and showing off your talent can really impress your guests!
Happiness
Flowers make us happy, from getting them to buying them. A bouquet for Valentine’s Day is always a good idea, and flowers are a great gift for any occasion. According to a study done by Rutgers University, flowers have an immediate influence on our happiness. Receiving flowers excites us, and inspires feelings of delight or gratitude. Even better, this reaction is considered universal, so no matter what the age, flowers give us joy! Not only that, but flowers have a long-term Effect on our happy moods as well – the study findings report feeling less depressed or anxious after receiving flowers. Imagine how good you could feel if you woke up to flowers every day!
Intimacy
The same Rutgers study also explored intimacy with flowers, and found that flowers led to more contact with family, friends, and significant others. When placed in areas of the home open to guests, flowers invoked an atmosphere of sharing space, or welcoming. If you love to entertain, flowers are the route to take should you want to be seen as an engaging host. We mentioned red roses earlier – now imagine the feelings evoked when you’re given flowers on a date. You feel happy and flattered, closer to the person giving them to you. That’s probably why flowers are considered such popular gifts when it comes to romantic encounters.
These are just a few benefits that flowers have when it comes to our everyday lives. So fill your home with flowers, not only for yourself, but to build positive relationships with people in your life and those around you. Flowers open up your home and your heart to happiness and joy, while giving other that very same feeling.
