Flowers are Changing, What's for Offer Today?
The array of flowers in garden centers is changing by the day with new hybrids appearing each year. Plant breeders are creating new types of flowers to keep up with the demand.
This can be both a positive and a negative thing for gardeners. It is good because a gardener will always have a large variety of flowers to choose from. However, if they like a certain type or colour of flower, this can pose a problem as older varieties of flowers usually do not return to the shelves.
Up until recently petunias have only existed in two varieties, with large flowers and small flowers. Now there are all sorts of varieties of petunias with sub varieties. Wave petunias, for example, have five sub-types…
