Floral Preservative is a Must

Floral Preservative is a MustMany of us have purchased flowers from the market or the florist, and have discarded the packet of preservatives provided. But it is actually a very good idea to use this floral preservative. This applies to the flowers you bring in from your own garden, not only store bought flowers.

The purpose of this preservative is to extend the life of your flower arrangements. It also prevents the growth of bacteria in the flower water. Floral preservatives contain some kind of sugar and antibacterial agent, and there is also a small amount of agent which makes the water a bit acidic.

But even when you have made use of this kind of preservative it is important to remember to remove the leaves beneath the water line. The vase should also be rinsed out every three days.
