Chichester Cathedral Boosts Appeal by Saying it with Flowers
The stunning Festival of Flowers opened on Thursday at Chichester Cathedral.
With an extensive musical program inside the cathedral and buskers entertaining the crowds outside, this festival is quite a sight to behold.
If the visitors of the cathedral feel inspired they can buy flowers of their own as there is also a plants sale on the grounds of the cathedral. Sculptor Philip Jackson is also exhibiting his work.
This event is held every two years organized by Chichester Cathedral Development Trust, in order to help raise money for projects to repair the cathedral.
The director of the trust Alison Godfrey says, “This is a wonderful event for the city. It really is something quite extraordinary and is a must-see for anyone who loves flowers, flower arranging and gardening or who would just love something unique to visit during the bank holiday week.”
Hundreds of people have volunteered to help with the flower arrangements. Hillary Tupper one of the volunteers says, “The volunteers do the most incredible job, and they put in hours and hours of work.”
