A Good Replacement for Grass

medium daisyMaintaining a luscious green lawn can be very difficult and constitutes a lot of work. A lawn full of grass has to be watered and mowed once a week, fertilized three times a year, and aerated at least once a year, which adds up to a lot of work.

There is an easy solution to this problem, digging up your lawn and replacing some of the grassy areas with ground cover. This will save you a lot of time and hassle, and it gives the environment a break too.

There are several types of flowers which can be used for ground cover. The blue star creeper is a small blue flower that blooms in spring and summer and enjoys the sun. Chamomile is very fragrant when crushed. Thymus is just made up of tiny leaves, but they also have a lovely aroma. Creeping thyme is also a wonderfully scented white flower that loves the sun. Mount Atlas daisies grow very slowly but they are dense and enjoy the sun, likewise.

All of these flowers can endure some foot traffic, and they are just as beautiful as a green bed of grass.
