Forget-me-nots Should be Left Alone to Grow Wild

Forget-me-nots

There are certain flowers which shouldn’t be kept under control but allowed to grow at their own will. One of these flowers is forget-me-nots, a type of biennial that is usually associated with romance.

If they are left alone they create a lovely blue blanket of flowers as they reseed and multiply covering large areas.

According to legends from medieval times a knight and a lady were walking on a river bank. As he was picking her a bouquet of flowers he fell into the river because his armor was too heavy. Before he drowned he threw the flowers to the lady shouting, “Forget-me-not.”

This flower is easy to grow – you just need seeds. If you know where some are going, you can even snip off branches that have seed pods, put them in an envelope and spread them where you want them to grow.
