A young man recently decided to order a gift for his girlfriend to say “Sorry!” for offending her. He logged on to our website and ordered a cuddly teddy bear with a helium balloon to be sent to her work in a busy restaurant. The balloon in the gift that he had ordered said “Congratulations on your new baby!”.
One of our quick witted customer service assistants felt that this didn’t quite match up with a message saying “Please forgive me” and a busy waitressing job. We called the sender and offered to substitute an “I Love You!” message balloon. He agreed wholeheartedly as he had not meant to send a new baby gift.
Imagine how embarrasssed the poor girl would have been if everyone at her work had seen the presentation of the wrong balloon. Explanations to her colleagues would follow and she would never, ever have spoken to the sender again. He would have, of course, been completely unaware why!
