Best known for presenting fashion shows, he has dressed thousands of women and is the UK’S fashion guru. Gok Wan participated in the charity this year by singing and dancing for the first time on television. With tweets such as ‘ Just arriving at the BBC and nerves are already in shreds!! And ‘ohh the nerves have kicken in!’, Gok was very nervous for this first all singing all dancing performance.
The day before the show, we received an order requesting for one our popular ‘Lucky bamboo arrangements’. Gok Wan is of British Chinese heritage and this seemed the ideal gift to calm his nerves. The Chinese have for centuries associated the bamboo with good fortune, fortitude, and resilience and we hope our arrangement helped give Gok the positive chi energy needed for this wonderful event.
The staff at flowers24hour.co.uk all tuned in for support to watch the show and we felt he looked and sounded confident and that it was a great first public performance for the charity.
Gok wan was supporting children in need and he said ‘it is possibly one of the best charities going in the world and they help thousands and thousands of children every year, and what they also do is that they get an entire nation to get together, form a community and do something for someone else’.
We were thrilled to have our lucky bamboo arrangement requested and to help out for a positive cause.
Children in need raised an impressive £26million pounds a staggering £8million pounds more than 2010.
